Cast, Costumes and Props
This is our actress who is also part of our group. We were initially not going to show her face because of the sequence having to be full of P.O.V. shots of her. However, going along with the shooting, we decided that it would have been a good idea to show her full body in order to reveal a relationship between them.
Josh Jackson, actor in shower.
We chose these actors puposefully due to their style and American teen-ager looks which is what we were aiming for initially. He is supposed to look like a jock and she is supposed to look like a typical cheerleader.
Costumes and Props:
Our use of props was very simple because the whole set and sequencve was very naturalistic.
This cardigan is what the actress wears when she enters the bathroom. The choice of red was to add colour to the set because there was a very yellow wash in terms of lighting. The colour also communicated to the audience that she is an important character because she stands out.
As the actress comes in, she removes the red cardigan remaining only with this tank top. The colour white represents innocence which is the intention, it will make the audience think that she is in danger. This comes as a surprise when the white top has a clear flood of blood splatter onto it while she violently stabs the actor.
We decided that her weapon would be a knife seeing that she is only a teen-ager. The decision to have a simple kitchen knife is iconic to that fact that everybody in the world has one, which is a weapon that can be used also to kill. We made this choice also because a girl her age would not buy a professional weapon such as a gun.
At every shot of her stabbing, to cut to him being stabbed continuosuly, we added blood to his chest by bits to make it seem realistic. There is shot to get a front view of her stabbing his as if it were from his point of view. While someone from inside the shower held the camera, another person splattered blood on her.
